The Waldkinder way of living prioritises nature, freedom of choice and movement. Our children take the woods almost daily and grow-up deeply connected with the environment.
We nurture community, as a center point of the human experience. From the food, the educational materials and clothing items,
we strive to make the right choices, shopping small, encouraging local businesses and a more responsible living overall.
Our work is focused on growing resilience and confidence in oneself. We cannot predict how life will change during the years, we can only try and be prepared for whatever may happen.
People are at the center of everything we do. Our kids, their teachers and the staff are working together, like a family. We all share the love and care for nature, kindness as a lifestyle, the joy of living outside the standards and the appreciation of the present moment.
We take pride in working with a range of local manufacturers and designers as well as small businesses and product providers who share our values – caring for the nature and for the people, striving to be part of a greener economy landscape, taking an active role in their local communities, buying small and timeless, making things that last.
Our day-to-day leather organizer is designed and manufactured in small batches by Bogdan Deliu, the Sibiu based leather goods designer and are handmade with style and personality.
Our fine art prints and nature accessories feature the unique style of the local illustrator Bianca Vesteman and are produced in limited series by PrintAtu, the print & digital studio in Sibiu.
We source our stainless steel and recycled-plastic BPA free bottles from one of the few businesses in the field of advertising and loyalty products that chooses sustainability over quantity and has built its approach on the “Let’s go green” motto.
We have chosen the premium, modern and sustainable blank apparel from Stanley/Stella, carefully personalized with our identity elements at Printoteca – Atelierul de Print.
When ordering from our website take into consideration that all products are the result of our collaboration with local and national projects and businesses, and since it is imperative for us to have a nature-friendly process and sourcing – in some cases it might take longer than a couple of days for the product to reach your hands. But it is worth it, we assure you. In the event that one of our products is out of stock, you will be notified within one business day. In this situation we reserve the right to divide an order into multiple shipments. We also reserve the right to change the terms and duration of any offers, sales, limited editions or promotions for sales.
Listed prices might change due to market fluctuations. We will make sure to update the website in case of any major changes, so that you will always have an accurate pricing of the products. You can secure an order by placing it online and paying as soon as possible, to avoid any changes that might occur during this time.

We can’t offer refunds or exchanges, unless faulty or not as described, on the following items:
– Products, which have been personalized for you.
– A product that has been specially ordered for you, unless faulty, we’re unable to refund or offer an exchange. We are unable to accept cancellations for these orders.
This does not affect your statutory rights.
We are not an ordinary online shop selling you “stuff”. We care. We care for nature, we care for people and their well-being, this is why your experience is important to us. If the product that you received isn’t the right thing for you, you can return it within 10 working days IF:
– the product does not match the description on the website.
– the quality of the product is not satisfactory.
In response, we can give your money back (except for the delivery fee) or replace the product, at your choice.
Delivery charges are not refundable and you will be required to arrange and pay for the return of the items to us. Please ensure you obtain a proof of shipping when you return the goods to us. You should retain your Proof of Shipping in order to provide proof to us that you have returned the products, in the unlikely event that we do not receive the returned parcel.
We accept the following payment methods:
Credit cards/Debit cards: Visa/Visa Electron or Mastercard/Maestro. The processing of the order is done in real time through 3D Secure.
On special occasions our shop will offer promotions, limited editions and special offers. Please note that these are limited and we might run out of stock rapidly when presenting these products online. You will be notified within a business day if a special offer/ promotion/ limited edition product goes out of stock. In case you have already made a purchase we will immediately refund you. We apologize for the inconvenience, technology can only do so much and we value the human factor, with its mishaps and humanly occurring challenges.
We do not stock up as a result of our care to nature (keeping stocks might result in extra pollution and we won’t have %SALE or discounts on highly personalized products). We strive to deliver your parcel as soon as we can, and we will let you know an estimate arrival time when you place your order. Orders are processed and dispatched on business days only (Monday through Friday, excluding bank holidays); we will take all reasonable care to deliver to the address given. However we will not be liable for non-delivery or miss-delivery as a result of incorrect data entry, so please make sure to provide accurate address and postcode information to prevent any errors or delays in delivery.
If you live in a remote area, please allow at least one extra working day.
Any times or dates stated on our site for delivery are estimates only. WALDKINDER Manufaktur will make all reasonable effort to deliver goods within the specified time-frame, but does not accept liability for any failure to deliver within that time. Since we depend ourselves on our providers, local manufacturers or our own workshop where kids have a substantial input, we are subject to delays and adjournments ourselves.

During processing time it may still be possible to cancel your order, but once the order moves into the shipping process, it cannot be cancelled anymore.
If you have changed your mind about the order and it is too late to cancel, you can return any unwanted items in accordance with our returns policy. For more information on returns, please visit our Delivery & Return section.
If you are unfortunate to receive a damaged item, please contact us within 7 days. We will be happy to help you arrange a refund or replacement where applicable. We do advise you to check goods upon arrival and note on the courier paperwork if you find damages.
If you refuse delivery, please notify us immediately. Goods refused on delivery that are found to be undamaged on return to us may incur the delivery charge.
In order to have a hold of your items for as long as possible we recommend to keep them safe from tantrums and (very natural) anger displays. They do resist a lot of unrestrained behaviors, but hard smashing, whacking, blasting and throwing might be in antithesis with the aim of preserving your products for a long time. Just saying… We also don’t cover anger management consequences (damage resulting from fury bursts do not make the object of our refund policy). Thanks for understanding.
If you have chosen a refund, we will process the calculated refund within thirty (30) days of receiving your returned goods provided that you have returned the goods to us in their original condition, within 14 working days from delivery. You will receive an email notification of your refund.
Please Note: We cannot accept returned goods that we reasonably believe have been used. In such circumstances, we will notify you that no refund will be available and you will be responsible for arranging for such goods to be returned to you within 14 days of our notification.

In 2019 we have created the Waldkinder nature-based kindergarten in Sibiel, Transylvania. What started and continues as an alternative early education initiative created for our own kids, grew later into Waldkinder School, the free democratic school with no classes, no teachers and no homework where children come to search for their passions. This way of learning shortly turned into a way of living adopted by a growing community of parents and families.
